W-LAN funktioniert aber LAN-Verbindung nicht, warum?

Hallo Leute. Mein Notebook habe ich bisher nur über W-LAN genutzt und möchte jetzt ab und zu auch LAN nutzen, weil es schneller ist aber leider funktioniert mit Kabelverbindung nicht. Ich komme nicht ins Internet. Warum?

Mit Sicherheit liegt es dann entweder am Netzwerkkabel oder LAN-Adapter bzw. Treiber
1. Mit anderem Netzwerkkabel testen und ausschließen, dass es an Kabel liegt
2. Wenn noch keine Änderungen sind, LAN-Treiber deinstallieren und LAN-Adapter erneut installieren.
