Welche Software ist am besten für Web-Statistiken einer Webseite geeignet?

Für meine Webseite suche ich nach einer Software, also ein PHP-Script oder WebDienst für Web-Statistiken. Ich weiß, dass es Google Analytics gibt aber ich suche eher nach einer Möglichkeit, wo ich die Daten meiner Besuchern mit anderen nicht teilen muss.
Gibt es was besseres als Google Analytics?

Webalizer, AWstats und Piwik sind die beliebtesten. Früher gab es Urchin aber wurde von Google gekauft.

Danke für die Antwort. Piwik habe ich mir kurz angeguckt. Kann ich Piwik selber installieren oder kann das nur Hosting-Anbieter machen?

Ach ja, Google Analytics ist das Tool, das sehr stark verwendet wird. Das sieht man oft in der Statusleiste, wenn eine Webseite geladen wird

Google Analytics verstößt gegen deutschen Datenschutzbestimmungen. Also schön vorsichtig damit sein.
