Was ist SSI (Server Side Includes)?

Ich verwechsle es mit SSH/SSL aber hat damitnichts zu tun. Was ist genau SSI (Server Side Includes) und wo braucht man sie? Vielen Dank!

Server Side Includes also Serverseitige Einbindungen sind Scriptbefehle in einer HTML-Datei, die vom Webserver ausgeführt werden. So muss nicht etwas vom Client dynamisch generiert werden sondern Server führt die Code aus und das Ergebnis wird an Client geliefert!
